Features and Benefits Of This Product
We know you have lots of choices when you are looking for Angel Eyes for your car. We only sell Angel Eyes made by the best in the industry, so you get maximum performance and reliability.
To summarize, we carry the best brands of the two major halo technologies, CCFL and LED. In short, they are both about the same brightness - great day and nighttime visibility, and the installation is nearly identical for both kits. Here are the other advantages/disadvantages.
CCFL - Positives
- Lower price than LED
- consistent ring of light, without spaces
- great brightness, although LED is a bit brigher
CCFL - Negatives
- Does not work well under 40 degrees F
- ballasts / connectors are sensitive to moisture
- glass bulb, which may burn out over time
LED - Positives
- Works in all weather conditions (great for cold climates)
- No ballasts / less connectors for better reliability
- does not burn out over time
- slightly brighter than CCFL technology
LED - Negatives
- Higher cost
- tiny spaces between LEDs giving the halo a choppy look up close, but from a distance it it very good. (Choppy look is virtually unnoticeable with WeissLicht LED Frosted Rings).
Available Options
For LED kits, we currently offer kits from 3 manufacturers, we have the NEW Weisslicht Halo Rings in 2 styles (CLEAR or FROSTED), Khoalty Helios Rings and the MyCarr 81 LED Kit.
The differences between the WeissLicht, Khoalty & MyCarr LED kits are as follows:
Ring Size: The WeissLicht LED kit is the first kit on the market for E46 using any technology to utilize two different sized rings. A standard-sized ring is used on the halogen light, while a standard-sized ring is used on the Xenon light. This provides a much nicer - more integrated - look when off. The Khoalty & MyCarr kits use the same (smaller) sized ring for all four lights. For cars with all-Halogen headlights, we have a kit that features the larger sized ring for all four lights. Choose that at the time of ordering to get the best look for your halogen headlight!
LED Size/Quantity: The WeissLicht CLEAR kit has 66 (small ring) or 74 (large ring) High power LEDs whereas the Khoalty Kit uses 62 LEDs and the MyCarr kit has 81 LEDs. The LED size, however, of the WeissLicht rings are larger filling up the ring in a similar way. WeissLicht FROSTED kit has 42 LED and a frosted/ribbed lens for a uniform look. The FROSTED kit also features an inner chrome reflector for increased brightness and an outer chrome ring that is visible when lights are off.
Installation: WeissLicht LED & Khoalty Helios Rings come with full plug and play connectors. No cutting of wires is required. MyCarr LED requires splicing of wires for installation.
Color: WeissLicht LED is a 7000k slightly blueish xenon color whereas the Khoalty & MyCarr LED is whiter 6000k color.
Cost: The WeissLicht LED kit is considerably cheaper, offering a much better value.
Why carry all 3? The MyCarr brand is well established in the marketplace, and until the WeissLicht product was released, was the best kit available. Some customers, through recommendations, still want to get the MyCarr brand, so we continue to offer it even though it is an inferior product in many ways. The Khoalty Brand Rings are a good value and offer a good alternative in a comparable price, even though their universal fitment does not provide the best appearance. Khoalty also has small ballasts that can fit into the light housing.
What's Inside The Box
All kits come with all necessary installation hardware, 4 rings, 2 ballasts (only necessary for CCFL kits), deluxe wiring harness with remote option, connectors, etc., and detailed installation instructions can be found online.

Installation Notes
To install, follow the provided instructions to open your headlight, the clips to attach the ring to your light housing, run the wires out the back, connect them to the ballasts using the provided connectors, plug the ballasts into the wiring harness and wire the relay to the electrical system. The rings will stay on when the car is on and stay lit for 10 seconds afterwards before turning off automatically.
The electrical wiring is pre-assembled in a heat resistant wire harness and plug-and-play connectors for quick installation.
Vehicle warranty problems should not arise from the installation of this product as it can be removed without any permanent electrical alterations, however, please verify this with your dealer before installation.
The only time consuming and potentially intimidating (but not difficult) element of installation is the taking apart and reassembly of the light lens covers. If you are comfortable doing this then professional installation is unnecessary, as wiring is pre-assembled and wiring instructions are available online. The vast majority of kits are installed by their owners.
For E46, the headlights simply clip apart, for vehicles such as e38, e39 and X5, the headlights must be 'baked' apart. For E36 vehicles, these will not go into OEM headlights, only after market headlights which can be taken apart.
NOTE: We do not accept returns on any kits which have been installed fully or partially due to the fact that they are un-resaleable. (ie: ends crimped, connectors installed, etc.)
Installation Difficulty: SKILLED - Special Tools or Specialized Knowledge May Be Required
